Anyways.. got the Chocs.. the new yr goodies.. Thankoo millions!!! Lurvely people.. lurvely.

The amazing collector's editing Jimmi Hendrix picks wth!! That I wont use.. NEVER!

Haha..

Thanks for all the heartfelt kind little gifts.. Personally... I dont deserve (or expect) anything more than the satisfaction of having the best job in the world.. in not the best part of the world though in terms of $$ haha.. thats the sad part aye..

kidding.. anyways...

Thank you all..

in total...

(Names kept secret...)

2 packs of choco finito..

1 more 80% cocoa.. must eat little by little.. concentrated *haI*tz!!

New yr goodies done!

Xiao Ding Dang plush kept and cuddled..

Jimmi hendrix Pix Kept for admiration purposes ONLY!!!!

Fender thin pick will be used.. hoping to get some nice guit tracks on album (first time see such pick definitely must experiment... triangle big big one)

Thank you all!! Intro some thing too..

V picks..

http://www.guitarjamdaily.com/index.php/reviews/65-gear-reviews/2084-gear-review-v-picks.html

Little people know that a pick can alter your entire sound.. from 20% - 60%

This kinda a love hate relationship for me.. each pick cost ard 5 - 15 sgd .. got 2 diff ones in my artillery.. The fender's added to my armoury now operationally ready!! ORD! haha.. Love the thickness of sound on this thing (due thickness 3 50cent coins for one of the models).. hate because of the "clicking" sound caused by thick picks' meterial fiberglassish kinda resin.

Oh well.. guess I'm talking too much music..

In pop industry must talk more on how interesting my life is.. Being in the media light etc etc.. OOPS.

Heckz.

To me.. Music is my life :)

Friends that stay by me are my life.

Family that love me gave me life :)

I enjoy hiding in my cave.. preparing music to give to the world..

Doing more music to keep the flame of passion and of fellow passionists alive..

KUDOS to all awake! Gd night!

Oh My Goodness. The pick box better not scratch. The Sender should know what I mean :)

Anonymous Anonymous | 01 February, 2010 08:22

by chance i saw a huge music store in a foreign land. grand piano. lots of guitars. handsome drum sets. so different from here we see. the picks are a must-buy, else regret a life-time!

Blogger Adeline | 01 February, 2010 10:06

cool :D and nic, i think not only are you blogging to entertain yourself. but i think its my entertainment too :D the video in your comment is cool :D

Anonymous Anonymous | 01 February, 2010 10:31

oh u muz noe this. the pick box was given by the shop assistant FOC! to protect the picks. this takes a music lover to look into such details. here, i bet u gonna pay for the box, say for at least a $ sgd??

the fender is a good catch not to be missed..though its size can't fit into the box..doesn't matter..most importantly use its talents!

Anonymous sam | 01 February, 2010 11:39

Until now, i'm still not good with picks. Smoother using fingers. Gotta need more practice.

Good day to all, no Monday blues ya..

Blogger thy | 01 February, 2010 17:30

soldering looks so scary D;

im too clumsy , never good in such d&t related stuff.. cuting, smoothing, etc. but the clear pick looks so freaking cool!!! never knew making a pick could be so cool. totally looks like a piece of diamond ...

Blogger thy | 01 February, 2010 17:32

LOL, okay, for those who didnt visit the website, here's a joke posted on it that i feel tt i shld share.

There is a girl for every guy but a guitarist has his pick.

muahaha! ;D

no monday blues, no no. time for work thou! take care all ;)

Anonymous nic | 01 February, 2010 18:00

HAHAHA!!!

THEN CIA LAT!!!..

Each pick has a diff sound.. due to the material density and hardness or thickness..

then what?

different girls for diff days? cannot laa!!!! wuahaha...

This pick is interesting because of the workmanship and hence sound produced.. my typical tortex black and hard ones are still used.. in gigs when i'm afraid to lose my 15 dolla pick keke.. or in the studio when i want a thinner sound..

and for acoustic strumming use thin ones coz u want the acoustic guitar sound thin and crisp.. all about usage ba..

tone is 30% of everything else.. it makes up the speaking voice of the medium.. the guitar tone in this case..

hence each has its use.. fingers. picks.. coins.. tongue (like crazy jimmi hendrix).. finger nails..

Its just how you wanna speak using the guitar.

I'm no pro.. but understanding an instrument how it works and what works best in a situation makes u an understanding player..

know the battle ground before you go into war! haha..

Plexu glass like material - its crazy.. but i have experienced th difference.. i know it exists :)

Some of my student came back with entire packs of picks.. all diff hardness and material just for their strumming lesson?!!! crazy... i respect..

experimenting and learning along the way is always fun!! so grab a pack of picks now! jokes..

kidding la. try strumming ur piano keke

Anonymous nic | 01 February, 2010 18:03

and yes.. sg has so lil things.. but..

went to thailand shop for 3 days (a holiday back then in 2008).. bought back the black telecaster.. almost a wasted trip!!!!!!

Thailand too even got less guit shops than SG!! so must appreciate liaoz keke..

Tried Malaysia.. crazy prices and lil shops too.. hard to find..

How I wish its the US culture here for music!

Anonymous Anonymous | 01 February, 2010 18:46

and if u notice, there's matt and shiny surface too, not sure its more sounding purposes.

didn't noe i coin the v-picks, thought it's petite and unique, can't see in sg, and it surely has a reason, not for the look i bet!

ya, venture to tokyo, sometimes in May!

Enjoy picking.... right gal please!!

Anonymous nic | 01 February, 2010 19:03

Yep.. they produce one series with a buffed surface.. another matt.

The matt surface ones are for a "rougher" sound.. grinds the strings for abit more "Bite"..

I've tried all.. couldn't bear to buy them all.. expensive la to collect!! haha.. hence bought 2 which suited my usage.. as friend of mine imports guits and VPicks.. so I had lovely opportunities to try ALL of them! Need more money to rob him of one of his guits! ARgh!!!!

Below are the picks I have for recording and playing (not the look gd collection aye.. workhorses to do my art).. Hope this is helpful to those that play or wanna understand more about guits and tone in relation to the pick or fingers! And pls dont forsake the fingers and chop them off saying you dont need them.. coz fingers are the priceless picks!!!!!!!

haha..pick girls...girls pick...

a girl has different role in life...daddy's girl...boyfriend's gal...girlfriends' darlings..boyfriends' buddies...husband's wifey....children's mummy...grandchildren granny...
play the role well...
live each role!!

Blogger thy | 02 February, 2010 00:50

LOL. nic , it's ok mah,hua xin only. LOL. plus they say behind every successful man there's a virtue woman,

behind every successful musician there are many WOMEN ! in this sense, picks xD

i like hw they have different picks for different sounds, different quality, and just well, each for it's own i guess. super cool,

and maybe u can get 31 picks, 1 day change 1 girl ma ! this way more inspiration XD

anw can bring for performance still, just get a clear hard case to keep it with your guitar [if your guitar bag has a front pocket that is, if not later the case scratch your guitar then it'll be bad lol]

i gotta go for supper now, bbl !

Blogger thy | 02 February, 2010 02:06

omg nic, you've got SOOOO many picks. so many girlfriends dont you feel too busy to entertain every single one? HAHAH

im so tempted to buy the starter's kit or the fab four in vpicks web... awww!

but im not at the standard of using a good pick yet. i barely even know how to get my notes correctly. buuu ;(

hw much did u pay for your v picks after u ship them to sg ? it's bad how limited we are in sg, thou comparably alot more in varieties to nearby country. but still !!!

Anonymous nic | 02 February, 2010 04:58

Jess..
I know a friend who carries them.. if want.. email me :)

haha..

Anonymous (I think Angie?)
In my pick keychain always 3 picks minimum.

1 V pick Diamond
1 Acoustic pick
1 tortex small hard pick

So i got 3 women in my pocket? jokes la! haha

Jess..
suprisingly these picks improve technique..

Thick picks phycologically affect us.. we no need grab so tight.. hence loosen the right hand grip..

when practice i ALWAYS use the V Pick Diamond.. when i change back to a normal one or the thinner Vpick.. more relaxed :)

About the grip thing they say on the web? eh.. not really la.. haha.. dunno..

Oh my goodness. shouldnt be promoting a product here. But gosh. ITZ GREAT. been 8 mth since the change from a traditional pick to a Vpick.. if i lose a v pick i sure will get it replaced.. but the traditional (good) pick cant be eradicated. Most neutral and has proven it's versatility over the years..

try strumming on a Vpick.. to me erhem.. its bad....

try a Vpick on individual notes of heavy palm muting..

IT ROKZ!!

nities!

Blogger thy | 02 February, 2010 07:36

Nic, i emailed you. i wanna get a few V picks to inspire me to pick my guitar up more often. self learning not easy. need alot of enthu. lols!

hmm.. the grip thing maybe is individual feel ba.. aft all one have to feel connected to their music instruments and their music related equipment to make true music.

oh yeah, nic, do u know rise against is a vegetarian band!
i saw a report, they dont drink, do drugs or eat meat ! they even got voted the most animal friendly band! omg, they;re so cool. hahaha!

:/

Nic ah…spilled the milk la..

Good to have these people in your musical life, in one way or another, it’s interdependently aspiring..

As for music, I’m not a music-mania; somehow, I’m blessed with people around me who have been nurturing me the interests since young.

My dad would rather buy me a piano though the money could be well spent on some household items which could give my family a more comfy home to stay in…was I selfish then? I ought to be guilty of this.

My mom taught me to play the harmonica, it’s melancholy to play a tune or two at night, except you risk your neighbors complain if you are staying in HDB flat. Not very romantic and emo afterall…

My bro, oh my so sweet kor kor, one CNY season, he gave all his ang bao $ to me, together with my own $, we bought a small guitar, and he enrolled me to a music school to learn the guit – chords, positioning… I did learn a bit, managed to improvise one or two songs on my own…I quit, couldn’t stand the torturing position to hold the guit at 45 degree. Later someone borrowed my guit, and from then I’ve never touch a guit anymore..

Piano lessons on every Sunday were also my siblings’ working days – they took turn to chaperon me to music lessons week by week…so spoilt of me!

When I quit piano lessons due to school works, my mom continued to fork out $500 ever 6 months to tune the piano – she has never gave up.

So these men and women are very important, keep in the pocket, keep them in your heart…whatever it is…keep them close to you. :)

And now I’m financially independent, I learn to pay it forward…

My niece inherited my piano after that – playing it well – so proud of her!

Anonymous angie | 02 February, 2010 21:45

on another note.. this might be an overdue conversation..

I love to mess around with my hands – to do flower bouquets, ribbons, doll up wedding event venues. I used to help out in a friend’s flower shop on weekends, a lot of labour works and the earnings are little, but I guess we both enjoyed it very much. I admire the entrepreneurs at haji lane with those little boutique shops, when I was there shopping, I think how nice if I can have a little shop, play jazz on the background, sell nice clothes, a café inside the boutique with a garden of lovely flowers and lovely ribbons flowing around, earning enough to get by each month – so dreamy. But one emergency incident in the hospital when I ought to come out with $7,000 cash at one go to pay for a medical bill (certain treatment can’t be paid by medishield), suddenly I was kept grounded – responsibility & accountability. No complains, I reckon some people are gifted in some ways to be able to deal with such pressing needs like this.

so, on the contra, I respect people who fiercely and courageously chasing their aspirations – not dreams – they are BIGGER then dreams – doing a dream job entails density of sacrifices, fears, insecurities to live the faith. Taking on a painstakingly journey that most people will turn away. RESPECT.

So, Musician, never feel guilty of anything while chasing a faithful aspiration. No one is to judge.

haha..start a new page with a lighthearted topic - so more people can participate la..

good night!

Blogger thy | 02 February, 2010 23:57

angie, i like how you like to do things with your hands, like arranging flowers etc.

like u mention, the haji lane stores, i
ve always wanted to get one store too. i loved designing, i have so many clothes design in my mind which i cant draw out, sometimes i want to just grab a piece of cloth and cut it into the design i desire but i cant sew. i guess all these have to see how much effort you put into ba..

it's a waste u gave up on piano, but it's good that you have such loving family members, i have very supportive mom too! ;) esp tt i didnt get good results for o lvls, she was so warmning, encouraging me to do other stuff, like telling me since i used to love hair dressing, i even went for a basic course, she told me she's willing to fork out the money to put me thru hair dressing course. but hair dressing might not make good money too, thats one thing for sure. but i do have passion in it, just like u say, musicians cant earn much most of the time but what they're doing makes them happy.

i guess u cant have everything in the world, happy job with lesser money or do those high paying jobs and lose yourself. but then again , i respect how you look at things too ! ;)

Anonymous nic | 03 February, 2010 09:13

nice nice... do things with hand gd..

i also doing thing with hand..

oh my goodness i cant fall aslp and got a meeting at 3pm.. got class at 6..

been at the guit since hme.. try slp in the end also get up and practice..

going bonkers with the guitar..

like this guy..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWZS4dAZktI

i'm practicing with the pick he's using.. the insanity vpick.. freakishly HUMONGOUS and hard to play.. but supposed to improve after a week as claimed by the creator of it.. just cant stop.. too nice a challenge too great a challenge... going insane!! argh!!!!

see how it goes.. no other picks but this one for the week... or the month..

forgive my crapping. zzzz..

bubye......

Anonymous angie | 03 February, 2010 21:46

j...

experimenting, exploring, good to search what u like to do, who knows u might just fall in love with something on the journey.. never believe in love at first sight.. haha..

beside haji lane, the stretch of terrence houses opp Holland Village are for rent to inspiring entrepreneurs ..i think.. u can convert the house into a yoga school, a floral shop or anything creative..and u can hold a girly tea-party on weekends and invite your girlfriends to bring their things there to trade...v fun! And u can make the 2nd floor your cosy little home...lovely...rental per month 5k i think..haha

works of the human hands, no digitals can compare...that's called workmanship..

love how his hands move on those strings, easy to play the ivoyr keys on piano but tough on guitar because of bending the wrist..not sure though..

...the digital world is crazy...emerging technology is alluring yet scary...

if one day, there's an invention like a cash register...that it has a scanner, scan through the music scores, import all the notes into the program. press a button to choose a genre, press another button to pick an emotion, and choose all the instruments you want the song to be played on...finally hit enter for the final product... hmm...

not a good idea..

or to enter a few chords, press a genre, choose an emotion, then it creates a song for u...many inspired songwriters will be v sad...

haha..lately the touch touch thing is making a technology wave in the tech world..and it's making me v busy...i wish the world can be just pure acoustic...

at least for now..

nites

V for Vendetta! Great show for thinkers out there..

entire show was carried forth via speech not action.

10/10 movie :)

V picks rock!

Anonymous nic | 08 February, 2010 17:10

"The material I use is sounding very close to tortoise , but it is lasting much longer."

quote from the Wegen site..

for those that love the tortoise sound.. go for it!

muffled and thick.. minimal squeek and click..

Vpicks lose at that.. there will always be a compromise :(

Anonymous angie | 08 February, 2010 17:48

gypsy jazz..light and distinctive..

percussion rhythm without the noise of a drum...

a pure acoustic feel with percussive strumming from a acoustic guitar (with a wegen pick...) sounds minimal..

there's always a meeting point, you can't have both worlds..

Anonymous Anonymous | 08 February, 2010 19:09

Are you all nominating MLB fc for the awards thing?

Anonymous ik | 08 February, 2010 20:30

yea... please vote 饮食男女 let it up to 933 long hu bang..
