GREAT! Finally another charity gig!
Hello All.. I have been away over the week and returned to a shocking news...that Ishi of SOUL passed away. I think although we are MLB supporter, SOUL has been a good TEAM too in the SB. May we have a min. of silence and prayer that Ishi RIP. He was so full of life and vibrant and what the exterior do not reflect truly what was inside.Condolence to all SOUL members too.
MLB... let us say this ' WE ALL LOVE YOU AND YOU ALL REMEMBER THAT '. Artist are creative people and they are so tempremental as well BUT...remember you are LOVE!
I know this is MLB's Blog but I want to say this...so that you know. Whatever, whenever we are always here for you!

yes, weiqi. july's 双打星 is 你们. heard it this morning le that's why post msg up there to remind every1 to glue their ears to the radio. maybe we will have kind soul who will capture the programme for us. if not, we must tahan, then wait for the podcast but it will be a mth later (last mth's SHE one also not uploaded yet).
haha, if u can finish ur revision then go? haha. 15 july de hua, my 3rd round of understanding test just over (starts 9 July and ends on 13July). But 29 July de hua, which is also very near to my 4th round of understanding test which will start on 2 Aug. haha.

Oh, I am very lucky today. The minute I logon the online Yes933, I heard MLB's interview on air this afternoon. Is that the 双打星 program that everyone is talking here? But I can't hear it clearly, cos I listen online Yes933, so the quality was not very good.

Hi MLB,
Is there any restriction on guideline about the autograph signing session? Cos last time when I attended Sylvester's autograph signing; they have something likes for a particular venue, the album you bought must be from a particular shop then the artiste will sign for you (eg, you bought the album from CDrama, then you have to get your album sign at JEC. If you purchased from Music Junction, then your album can only get sign at BPP). Hopefully, there isn't anything like this!
Haiz, why another venue for autograph signing session again in the West? The organising committes so unfair to fans staying in the East! :-(

Frankly speaking, I don't believe warner music will kui dai their local artistes ba - milubing de promo schedule can't be just 3 Sundays only; I do hope the company are planning for other activities (may not be autograph session...maybe gigs or meet-and-greet session) at other places.
Again, I DON'T BELIEVE THERE WON'T BE OTHER GIGS~ haha, maybe August still got somemore activities coming up. So do keep a lookout ba.
Trust me - you will have the chance to see Milubing going to the East side for their promo tour de. haha.

Hopefully what you've said is true! Of course 3/4 promo events are really too less. Oh, talking about other gig or promo; hopefully there will have one in K-box. Then can feature their MVs mah!
But I think, extra events / gigs or autograph signing sessions will depend very much on the sales of their album.
Lets pray that MLB's debut album will hit a record sales mark. MLB & MLBians Jia-You...
The good thing about Warner Music is they bother to advertise their artists intensively on TV. Did you realized you keep seeing Fang Da Tong, Yang Pei An and Sin Huey on TV ads? So as a result their album sales are very good; not forgetting their shijies like Joi Chua and Guo meimei and many more...So hopefully Warner music won't kui dai Milubing lor. You get what I mean ba? haha.
Won't de ba - Singapore first superband leh, I doubt they(their company) won't be serious de ba? haha.

Can I give some advices intead of praises? (Anyway,enough praises from everyone)
The arrangement doesnt seem to be "outstanding", it cld be better to make the song piece more sheng dong. (Wondering cld it be the limited instruments available?)
Tears is a catchy title, however the lyrics are a bit lacking as its quite amateurish and it didn't bring out the essence of "tears". It may inject more "life" in the song if the story revolves round the word "tears".
Hmm, and Nic vocal sounds very "ang moh". Hence, it makes the song very qian qiang, as in deliberately fill up an "ang moh" song with Chinese lyrics. Should start to work on your ying zhun to show your chen yi.
My 2 cents worth though. (:

i agree that the lyrics for lei isnt strong enough... somehow it felt that the lyrics didnt really tie in with the story/main idea of 'lei' that you're tryin to express. i do compositions sometimes too, i think its hard to come up with a good title to fit the lyrics of the song...
something like that, duno if u guys will understand what im tryin to say...
this is something a 'qian bei' told me before...
因为词很简短，所以所有的词句就算不是直接也该间接的为主题作贡献，也就是说都在渲染主体的意境或阐述故事的原委.
as for nic's vocals. uniqueness of mlb i guess. haha... makes it easy to recognise... :P
dont get me wrong, i think lei is pretty good yeahh... will expect more from the rest of the album... have heard a lil of shi ying. sam, the lyrics not bad yeahhs...
was at sheng siong, really have to say that the song sounds really good live. the guitar sound at the beginning was superb. lookin forward to hearing it live again!

Ya lor, they will need comments on how to improve ba? Not to insult or criticize but just feedback, correct? haha.
Also to add that the music arrangements in "Tears" lack of chen chi gan (layering). It makes the song rather flat. Hence, I didn't really find any climax when listening to the song. Similar to Nic vocals too. Maybe it would sound better if Nic would to reserve his vocal a lil in the beginning and bring the song to a climax at the later part.
Well, though 1st attempt, making an album good is professionalism. So, to work on the vocal is impt s well.

So pai-seh, you mentioned my name here. But frankly speaking, I love this song very much (cos its MLB 1st baby, and they do it all by themselves). Fyi, I even used my handphone to record this performance.
Of couse there are area that need improvement, even a veteran singer also have to improve his/her vocal as times goes on. So, lets give MLB times to prove for themselves. I know that MLB will always do their very best (especially in Music). I even can see their love for music will never fade, they are very serious in doing good music for us. Can always heard them blaming themselves when things are not right (eg. sound systems), their own expectations are also very high.
MLB, I have confident in you guys. Jia-You...Jia-You...
MLB'S 泪 nice man! i've heard many of my frens saying.. although they may not be a great fan of MLB. but again.. it's good to hear positive comments from other ppl. some of them even ask who is the one composing this song.. great great work from MLB!! JIAYOU!! i'm eager to grab your album and listen to all the songs in one breathe! anyw.. continue to jiayou wors. i will definitely be there for the autograph session!! cya!!
p.s. this may be a very good attempt for mlb! of cos.. there's always room for improvement! smile *blink*

Overall, I think "lei" is not really that bad ba? If so, Warner also won't be so stupid to just release the album. Believe Warner also want their company image rite? Moreover they are the so-call professional ppl in doing music. Well I will say that : one man's meat is another man's poison! Not everyone will love the same song, each has their own choice.
But for a 1st timer, I will give MLB 2 thumb-ups. Keep up the good work & continue to improve yourselves. Cheers...

Well. my turn to talk. For me. I find that the arrangements is nice. Every piece of Commercial music has guidelines. People usually say, those that are "good" then have commercial values. Those songs with fancyful lyrics, outstanding fancyful arrangements. I would say, there is basically just 3 instruments to do here. or rather, 2. Drums for beats and only guitar and keyboard for the arrangment. There is no 1st /2nd violin to enhance the song.
To me if you are talking about commercial music, yeah. You are right, there are so many things you should follow, simple stuffs don't work in commercial and that's one freaking thing that musicians hate. People that went commercialise, they no longer have the right to really do what they want. Every piece of music needs review. Every piece of work will go through editing, to suit the listening pleasure of people of course to get them to buy something they enjoy listening.
To me, Mi Lu Bing is about 3 young guys who's passion for music is super high. I would say, to me what they want to express is brought out throught the songs they write, play. Talking about commercial arrangement. Yeah, perharps commercially you may think it's not good enough.
Everyone in the market is doing the same thing and music around us is basically the same way with different melody and I'm already sick of such commercialise music industry. That's why I enjoy listening to people who make music out of simple tune, words, and stories of themselves and people around them.
Therefore, for mi lu bing's first album with songs written by them. I would say, I'm sastified with it.

I love simple music, with simple words that a lot of people can relate themselves to.
Music is not all about Making Money and following guidelines. Do what you want in your music is what I beleive in. Pointless to follow commercial guidelines and do something just to suit major market requirements. Everyone has their own way of doings things but not everyone will like what you do. Simple Music is my Life. Commercialise Music, perharps, I think it is a Product made to suit requirements rather then something made with heart and feelings.
So I think the guys did a good job on Lei. As least to me, they really did.

I do not pretend that I am a music expert. The only think I know is I like e arrangement, the mood when the song is presented and the way it was sung.
There are people out there who either listen to you or your music is not their cup of tea. IT'S OK!....ha.a.a.a like Kelly sung her final 'MY WAY'..yea!
I like 'Lei' and like I said in my many postings... I will support and watch MLB grows! If there is compliment, I am sure they will be delighted, and when otherwise, they will take it with a pinch of salt and move on to be better.

Lei, i'll say this song is relatively good, but because this is the 第一主打, it's natural for people to expect more. i know fully how u guys always strive to do your best in music... like perfectionist nic, always die die have to do well... and of cuz sam and weiqi, i think the existence of u 3 really stress the people working w u guys on the album right? haha... but wells, the 第一主打 is mainly the impression people get of the album as its the one being played most. so there's a higher expectation for the song to be good.
but i believe that the content of the album will not be a 草率 one, esp with such a long time of preparation. and also believe warner and mlb will not allow a release before everything is well and perfected. i'll look forward to listening to the entire album, will only make a judgement after that...
overall, i guess what matters is that you guys have expressed what you've wanted to, and that you've done your best. u guys have shown ur your true passion for music, its ok if others dont think its good, most imptly, have confidence in yourself.
