well nic, think your computer got virus, thats y it hangs. E only way is to reformat your PC. Try to back up your important files n reformat ur PC. It should work fine after that. As for ur connection, complain to ur service provider. Cos if I'm not wrong, they must meet a minimum connection speed at user point. They can check e connection speed at e your connection point or ask u to go to their technical website, follow certain instruction to check your connection speed. I complaint to starhub before, tats y I know. :P
If u can't even connect to singnet website fast, then really should shoot a complain.

err... sorry for being loh soh, but there is something which bothering me till now when u said something about your connection speed last week. U mentioned tat u use cable boardband from singnet... but singnet doesn't provide cable connection ah?! Singnet use ASDL which use telephone lines to connect. N ASDL doesn't share connection traffic with other users like cable, they have their own band. A very good n easy explaination from my friend of ASDL and cable: Cable is like a highway with multiple lanes. Can be very fast with large file download if its not jammed with other users. However ASDL is a personal lane where no ppl will share with you. The speed should be constant all e time.

Sorry to tag all these. Just couldn't help it when it comes to tech things. :P

Saw the mistake in my last night tag this morning but no time to declare error until now.
Its not ASDL, its ADSL lah.. me being blur again.

Just back from Lucify's One Man Live Concert. Wow, it was good, I just love live music and concerts. Qnobe's Liu De Hua was the special guest, sang some songs with them. Some other superbands were there to support them too. It was really fun. Too bad the crowd seem quite cold tonight, not many ppl were high. hmm.....

Your tag is so intellectual and in depth. Are you a teacher? I do read books but not to the extend of your level.

Recently read a book by an Americian on 108 abnormal cases in USA. It is abt murder cases. It gives details of the convicts and victims, police files - author gives names and the crime. Author also give detailed background of the convicts. Most of them are from broken families, mental sickness, under influence of drugs etc. Some of them are really sad. We lived in a very pressurized socitey. Forensic is one of my career consideration.

When I switched on my computer, it prompt me an "user environment" then it prompt again to say that cannot find the local profile only managed to open a temporary profile.

From what i know, if u cannot serve internet but ur comp is well then your comp might be invaded with spyware. But when ur comp is infected with virus then your whole comp would not be able to work. Think so.

Few months back theres a 'virus breakout' in our school too. It's called the ravmon.exe . The virus starts in the thumbdrive & if u used it in your comp it would stayed in your comp and infect your comp. Some say it's the trojan in disguise. Others said all he does is to eat up your comp's memory (worm mahz). There are ways for you to remove it from your comp. You can also use this to check if other virus are present in your comp (that's provided you know the name of the virus)
I copied this from my friend's blog. Hope he don't mind.

-->Press Start at the task bar
--> My Computer
--> System/Local Disk
--> Windows
--> Registry Editor/regedit.exe
-->Press Ctrl F
-->Type ravmon and search
-->Delete the file (ravmon file)
-->Search ravmon again
-->A default file will appear, and under data is (C:WINDOWSsystem32RunDLL32.EXE Shell32.DLL,ShellExec_RunDLL RavMonE.exe e)
--> Then right click choose modify
--> Delete away ShellExec_RunDLL RavMonE.exe e
--> Then search ravmon again
--> Keep repeating the process of delete the ravmon file and modfiy the(C:WINDOWSsystem32RunDLL32.EXE Shell32.DLL,ShellExec_RunDLL RavMonE.exe e)
-->You can stop after the search if it appears a box that said " Finished searching through the registry"

I am still able to login to internet, but my folders on the desktop are gone (includes MLB's video gigs) ~ so sad :(

Wah, you like to read crime stories. I do too, but depends on what kind. I have a "weak" heart so cannot take gory details. Hee hee, I like the kind like Agatha Christie's Miss Marple and Hercules P. And the lady dectective that lives in Maime (I forget her name and the author's).

Recently I re-read Josephine Tey's Brat Farrer for the third or fourth time. I think it's set in the 50s or in the days before DNA testing!
Brat Farrer, cued by a small-bit English actor, went to England and impersonated the heir (who was supposed to have flung himself into the sea seven(?) years ago). His excuse for turning up again? He claimed he didnt kill himself, but he ran off on a ship. As he looked so much like Simon, the other surviving twin, and knew his way around the estate (the actor was a close family friend), and with other details, the family accepted him. As you read, you wonder if he can pull off the job. Then you realise something is not quite right about the death of Patrick (the twin Brat is impersonating). Ends up with Brat solving the mystery with great peril to his own life. Fascinating story.
Ha ha cant tell you the ending or I will spoil the suspense for the reader.

Rite from the beginning, I said that you are one smart chap. Ya, you guess rite and it happens that I love reading!

i think you have exceeded your profile storage space. U might have many files on desktop (videos can eat up quite a significant space). Desktop shld only be used as shortcuts. Not sure if u wanna try it.

To remove files from your profile, you have to locate your profile-folder. You'll find it under
C:documents and settingsusername.

To disable profile quotas, open the System Policy Editor by running Poledit.exe (win98) or gpedit.msc (XP). Go to user configuration/system. Make sure it is on an unlimit profile size.

hmm... not very sure how to solve the problem. Think uncle phil, u can try xiu's solution, I agree that it could be the user profile prob.

If not sucessful, it could be that the directory that is associated with the account has been deleted from the Documents and Settings folder. Are you using Window XP? Cos this seem to be a bug in Window XP.

I never got this prob before but can try Microsoft recommended solution, create a new user cccount
To create a new user account,

1. Start the computer in Safe Mode, and then restart the computer.
a. After the Power On Self Test (POST), press the F8 key.
b. On the Windows Advanced Options menu, use the ARROW keys to select Safe Mode, and then press ENTER.
c. When you are prompted to select the operating system to start, select Windows XP , where is the edition of Windows XP that you have installed, and then press ENTER.
2. Log on as Administrator.
a. On the "To begin, click your user name" screen, click Administrator.
b. Type the administrator password, and then press ENTER.

Note In some cases, the Administrator password may be set to a blank password. In this case, do not type a password before you press ENTER.
3. In Control Panel, click User Accounts.

4. Create a new user account. Windows makes a new directory for the account in the Documents and Settings folder.

5. Quit the User Accounts tool, and then restart the computer.

I have slacked somehow. Due to work and personal reasons. I hv nvr failed to read the blog wen I find time.

I love to read crime stories too and nw more serious stuff.. more inclined towards religion.

No matter how old we grew, we still need Mum. I recalled while reading your tags that I was very sick once when I was posted overseas. Both physical and mental and I longed for Mum. I know I am v selfish cos I called and my 80 yrs old mum at that time din hesitate. She flew in w my bro and lived with me for 14 days. Just to be hugged by Mum and buried in her embrace is the best medicine in the world.

Hope everyone here learn to love. Love begins at home. I know parents come in different types but try. I hv gone tru the rebellious stage but as I grow older, I can see where my parents placed their love for me. Eternal grateful!

As for MLB, we will be around to jiayou for you.

Ugly people can be happy, provided that they know how to appreciate things and have things to be happy about. I'm not sure how to phrase this but what I mean is they would not let their looks put themself down. Like...they are still enjoying life/the things that they do.

I'm not sure if this applies to all but for me I would be like that. Not trying to prove anything but looks-wise...nothing mahz. It's only when your heart is 'ugly' then you are real ugly.

Thank you very much for your help.
I initially tried with Xiu's advise but can't find some of the folders/files mentioned so I proceed to try Flora's step-by-step advise until log on as Administrator then I proceed to last/previous settings then it prompt me to a calendar with certain dates in Bold. I click the last date where my computer gave problem and then it started to restore all old settings. After that, it restart my computer and everythings on my desktops are back again.
Wondering whether its solved or only temporary.
Anyway, really appreciate Xiu, Flora & C7 de quizzy_me for all your precious help. THANK-YOU once again.

I really feel that this MLB family is really amazing. We started with just encouraging MLB in this blog; then go on to chit chatting/crapping here. Then we meet up (that's during gathering); even after first gathering we are still guessing who is who; then we exchanged MSN (or the other way round?), then phone numbers; then we meet up a few more times then finally get to know who is who; then now we are linking each other in our individual blogs. To share with you. When I was very much younger, I tot I am Ugly. I am a 'rounded' girl. Very envious of the slim slim girls. Not much self confident. That time in Sec 4. All my girl classmates were toking abt what they wanted for a career. When they come to me, I said I want to be a Secretary. WoW! They all burst out in laughters. One said - Secretary is pretty because they are PA to Boss, so they dun see me a Secretary. What they mean is I am too FAT to be one. I went to take up a Secretary Dip. I told myself tt I may not be the pretty secretary but I will surely be the best brain secretary. I am not ambitious, I started with a small firm, just Boss n me. Later a GM of a multi-national came to purchase equipment from us. He likes they way I handle customers and offered me a job. I was very daring. I asked for a pay $1000 more than wat I was drawing at that time n I nvr look back. Today I hold a managerial position not wo hardwork cos I went on to better myself n got the degree to move up. I am cheerful n always bn cloned 'kai xin guo'. I have bn with the company ever since.

One day, I spoke to a lady boss. We are toking about some very good looking lady staff. So I said: I am far frm being called pretty. My Boss said : 'Yes' BUT you are beautiful! Pretty is in the FACE, Beauty is in the HEART! :) :) :)

So we are nvr FULL MARK 100%. Make up the misfits with your talent and move. PPL see you as how you want to project yourself.

Bonnie..I din get to where I am without heartache. You know that some ppl can b very wicket with words. Especially to'abnormal' ppl like me! ha.a.a..a. Anyway, I just want to encourage 'twinkle twinkle little star'...!!!!!

I count my blessings n thank the GM that gave me the break. My Mum always said that we should remember kindness from people and forget the kindness we give to ppl.

Holiday ah? Don't idle too long leh.. haha.. go malaysia play play la.. Saw a variety show on Malaysia few days ago.. Aiyoh! 1 kg of Crabs and sotong cost only Rm15!
I don't mind living there and having seafood everyday. Yum Yum. :p
Imagine me with foldup trousers and ah pek singlet, fishing in the sea.. Whoo.. oyster oyster from the deep blue sea..

1) A woman who dun gossip - is not a woman. Woman is lovely because they dong jia chang and xi jia duan!

2) A woman with lots of accessories worn with taste is not a Christmas tree. It in the ability to be one. I love my woman to have accessories and makeup.

3) Hardworking woman, my grandma's time in China...ke ku nai lao! Work like a cow. Now is work smart, play hard.

4) Nothing to do with God lah! Christmas Tree also use to celebrate the birth of Christ. Everyone loves to see a Christmas Tree..ha.a.a.a

In this world, it takes all type to make it. Plenty of ungracious ppl around. They din think their actions hurts.

Dun worry abt deleting. In Singapore we tok abt service and this person surely got no service sense. They should thank you. Dun think they can sue you. You can sue them for throwing the coins at you. They are more afraid of getting their bad names all over papers.

Small matters, dun take it too heart. It has something to do with upbringing. It has something to do with our society.

It must have hurt you a lot at tt time and become a stigma. No worries. Next time stand up for your right. You are the customer a nd customer is 'always' right. Just say to them 'watch your manners' or 'can I see your manager'. That person will surely lose her job.

OK... i shall stopped patronizing these two outlets!

You stay happy. It has nothing to do with look when they behave such. Shallow mentality!
