11.30pm is a nightmare for all of us. I don't think I can complete my assignment with a peace of mind before 11.30pm, somemore now I'm at still-a-tiny-little-step-to-finishing stage lehx...sianz... still hope/will believe that milubing will make it to QF10. Why? Got 3 reasons;

1) For this fri's gig at plaza sing, many foreign singers will be there. They will have the chance to appreciate our local talent (milubing!) and milubing can make use of this chance to learn from them too.
2) For QF10; depending on the song they chose, I personally feel that QF10... very easy to come out with patterns de, because of the theme lor.
3) very easy, milubing cannot be 'out' so early at this stage mahz.

But, things r getting more and more unpredictable these days. So no matter what the outcome is, milubing will always be our beloved milubing... But I still believe milubing will succeed de...

Hi milubing! After watching QF9 last night, the ‘amount’ of disappointment I have for you guys are MUCH lesser (still have a tinge la) as compared to last week. You guys certainly deserved at least 34. The arrangement you trios had done for dan xiao gui, I should say, it’s very near to professional standard le (in my opinion la). Yup, I think I have to agree that the sound system really affects your performance. And Sam, be more confident k? But personally I feel that the judges are too strict le (but no doubt on judges’ professional judgment la).
Haiyo, I saw weiqi look so glum when the marks are shown. Well, you mentioned before that you felt that you’ve let us down. Aiyaya, don’t worry la. Whether you guys have let us down it’s up to us (MLB family) to decide. And I’m proud to say, you guys didn’t let us down. For me, I feel happy for you (sounds weird hor?). Why? You all have learnt something from this not-so-happy QF, and you all will become better the next time. Don’t worry k? And you trios really really really mustn’t give yourselves too much pressure k?

have some comments abt last nite's performance:
1}sam must work on diction; his words were not clear,unlike previous solo performances where he could emote properly,eg shen bian(longing),bu xiang chang da (attitude), tian mi mi (his trademark shyness/tenderness). U have ur own style, no need to follow other artistes in bad diction & pronunciation (cant stand it). the close ups of u were fab!
2)nic- u have lost weight!
3)some parts where 3 of u sing tog sound v jarring. need to work on that.
4)billy koh was right- u guys look tired. there wasn't the fun element in ur performance. u sound,look like u can't wait to get it over. stage presence is v impt & must project an image of unity, confidence & professionalism. must also enjoy what u do.

i can't agree more with cp.

Here are my comments

1) You guys are too burdened with living up to your own and fans' expectations. You looked so mentally tired and all of you played and sang as if you are anticipating something bad. You need to relax, if you don't enjoy, audience won't...so please don't feel so burdened....energy was really low. Think you give yourselves too much pressure....aiyoh, it might only be the beginning, so spare yourselves the pressure ok!

2) Singing sound weird - i suspect is due to system (waulau system like our school hall last time)...singing doesn't go well and not very pleasing

3) The format of the song was quite similar to the past few weeks...slow than rock...nuthing wrong actually but just be careful about applying it continously as your success formular cos there is no success formular in music

4) I was abit worried that you all will start adding conversational elements in your song....but you din do that last night which was good. Cos happened quiet a few weeks already....time for a change

i don't mean to change everyting completely for the sake of being different...there must always be a balance of things...can do but not too often...once in a while

You are all very blessed cos i can tell that some of the judges really really sayang you all.

Rem to be more forgiving towards yourselves and not inflict uncessary pressure

i think you guys performed quite well yesterday. but couldn't understand why some of them didn't like it.

sam, i think although you are shy but the vocals were alright! except the part where dennis(chong qing) said, i think it was the humming when you started. a little bit not steady but after that everything went right, clear and all :).

and the mic had problems was it that? i was so worried! when nic started with the rock version, the mic suddenly let out the shrieking sound and nic seemed disturbed by it. aww. did it affect your mood? i think it somehow did at first, but after you finished the first section, you smiled and that killer smile made myself smile too x) that smile seemed to tell us not to worry cos you're fine :). nic i think your rock version was nice too.

and weiqi, i love your harmonising part! :) it reinforced the tune, making it even nicer and different feeling from gigi's version. great! :D

the thing i agreed with the juges was you guys seemed tired. was it because you guys didn't want to let us down and practised too much that caused the tiredness? i hope not! don't tire yourself out alright? have enough rest is very impt :)

and sam was so cute, during results show you said you choose mantou cos they are looking at you x) -giggles-

i said i'll vote for you guys and i did. hahas. so i was rejoicing when you guys got in so soon! but maybe not too crazy cos another one of my fav which is soul is still not safe yet. -gritting my teeth- but was still glad that both of my favs went through!

Not that ple don't like it....

It is good that the fans gave their feedback and perspective rather than blindy adore them and think that everything they do is good and fanstastic

As supporters, we just wana do diaster checks to point out any imperfections or even impending problems so that the group and reflect and improve. We watch the performances for many weeks so some of the feedback are really constructive

It is not critism but rather, some insights that the group might not see cos - Pang Guan Zhe Jing - (means the observers sometimes observe better)...

That is how good become better

Having said that....reflecting doesn't mean giving yourself uncessary pressive

i rmb one of the judges commenting on one of the bands that they shldnt focus so much on their singing that it became so unnatural. fang kai is the most impt. then u'll enjoy. relax=enjoying=natural=good performance
anyway. i think sam arh.. haha. if u think u sang badly for some part or wad, dun bother abt it bah. juz continue singing and sing it with a smile. hmm overall, think nic really look great while singing. his smile is soooo.. mi ren. haha. shows some of ur confidence.
overall, i think the beginning and the part proceeding to the 'rock-ness' were not very good bah. but it got better soon after. yup. that's the good thing bah.

Hi MLB,

Well, the studio I must say, the lightings are real good. Very good effects the camera can capture. The most obvious one is the performance bt Brods. The dizzy effects. Anyway, the sound system is really terrible to the core. I rather have choose the previous studio with lesser lightings effects. Hai yo!

k. some problems yesterday:

1)Terrible sound system is very sensitive to nic's ears, and while singing this Dan Xiao Gui, nic, you look very "Xing ku" dealing with the sound so your expression is very "Chi li". Can't blame you 'cause it's very obvious sound feedback. But pls do try to cover it with your smiles.

2) This song's harmonising is nice in the first part but quite messy in the middle, with breaks in between. Maybe with more overlaps of voice can make the music flow better. Is it because the sound system is so bad that, you all feel panicky?

3) this song suppose to be very lively, gentle, continous with fast paced lyrics. But the continuity of lyrics and music is not there. Hmmm.. not relaxing enough. too tensed up during the singing. Sam is good, sings well. The patterns and the idea of the change in vocalist is good but didn't flow well enough

In all to say, the song was blaring at some parts when you all change vocalist and during harmonising. Really lousy system in this studio. No point having nice lightings when the sound system is so bad. Defeat the purpose of having song recordings in it. Maybe this studio is used for variety shows lor. But guys, you did quite well, just that I feel that the sound affected your mood to sing this lively song. Nic's brows were creased together, can see that you are so irritated by the feedbacks.

Anyway, it's a nice performance with great efforts. Beautiful boys in pink - look so handsome and sweet.(like sweetie gigi) Weiqi, your hair is really attractive. I guess the girls will comment about it the whole day. You all look great under the beautiful lights. this song is great in blue light though, to make it as calm and soothing as the song itself but they shone red lights instead. Maybe to enhance your clothes.

Don't blame yourself. These are unforseen circumstances. We believe that you will giv your best and also be the best. The MLB family will support you no matter what. I've a very strong feeling over that. My intuition seldom goes wrong. But still I'm not God so leave the rest to God. Take care!

Here's some of my honest opinion. Last nite performance was weak. Looked tired. Maybe Nic just recovered?! But the pale pink outfit did nothing to enhanced your visual impact. Let's face it, WQ and Sam are hidden by the instruments but Nic is very conspicious, so need to look more vibrant. Pale pink made you looked totally washed out. You probably need something brighter like the red outfit you wore the previous week to bring out the colour in you.Dun brush me off, sometimes how you look makes a lot of diff. Just look at Lucify, they looked good last nite n they sounded superb. I mean afterall it's a whole package. Nic also should keep fringe off the forehead cos u have a small face, with the fringe covering your forehead, there's hardly any of u left to see!
2.Thot the formula of starting with Sam then followed by Nic is not so fresh anymore. Unlike previously, like guo huo n tian mi mi, tis time round, no climax, I mean in fact, Nic sounded a little drowned out by the music, no more the ren xiao xiao, sheng yin da da. Maybe it's the sound sys but......
On the same note, judges already mentioned Sam too shy and lack confidence, no offence meant Sam,but if continue to stick to same formula of starting with Sam may be risky. Cos judges won't be so forgiving, unless Sam can appear more confident, maybe he should not start off the song but give him a solo part in the middle. Hey maybe WQ can start? Surely he can sing?
But really, Sam has the voice n talent but maybe it's your personality, born shy. Actually I suspect sometimes it's got to do with perception, Sam actually has tis good shy boy next door look, perhaps you guys could think about disguising Sam's look a little. Eg wear an aviator shade or something that hide your eyes (rememer WQ was called cool last time he wore shade), or wear some accessories or do something to your hair or whatever. Perhaps can make Sam appear a lil more confident or more hip n cool, and not so shy.
Finally I think u guys have been working too hard. Maybe should just take a breather. Get together have a good time but don't practise. U know just get together and talk nonsense, hey isn't that how u guys got all those patterns in the 1st place?
All in all I still think u guys are great n have immense talent. It has always been a joy to watch u on stage. Nic is a consumate performer who (apart from last nite)seems to really enjoy himself on stage. wish Sam is like that too. WQ is fun to watch too. Miss ur humour. Hope to see more of that it future.

ok.. It's called the Tong Shui, serving 400 dishes.(not 300) Dishes with mix culture food (western& eastern), very nice blended drinks. absolute Hong Kong style. From Dimsum, ovenbaked cheese rice, chee cheong fun, beef noodles in Sichuan sauce to desserts like Black Sesame & Almond etc. too many to mention le la! Well, in all to say, it's a dynamic place to check out. Furnished in oriental style inside out, with Crystal lights in the interior, it is brushed with strong culture. Very traditional look outside but very classy and elegant look inside. 3 plasma Tv to watch scoccer. Air- conditioned and non-air conditioned (outside). Now not yet start the canto Ktv yet. Don't worry, shifu can sing for you.

Sorry but my heart is really aching when i see pple criticising sam for being shy & not letting him start off a song blah blah blah although i noe they mean well. I feel like speaking up but there seem too many comments asking them to do this & that which seem so confusing. Or maybe i m the one who's confused cos i must confess i m just so smitten w/ sam u can say i m blinded w/ any flaw... but one thing is MLB can't please everyone out there, some pple ask u to do this while others ask u not to... i think at the end of the day the most impt thing is to follow your heart & do wad u think is best for yourself & BE YOURSELF. If you perform w/ your heart & soul, the audience can surely feel it. So it's always impt to be truthful in wad u r performing & believe in it. (sorry i don't know if u understand my crap at all)

Then nic, weiqi & sam must really take care of yourselves hor. always getting sick, so heartache. i heard sam's voice a bit shaya on mon nite result show, wonder if sam's getting sick again? & u so bad, say mantou will get in cos their marks LOWEST so their supporters will vote frantically, sound so insulting, LOL. Just want to remind u to be more careful when u speak lor although we noe u don't mean any sarcasm some pple r sensitive & don't give any1 a chance to stir troubles out of this, u noe. Then my turn to say sth tt may offend pple here, notice there r some conversations not relating to MLB here recently, would like to remind u this is supposed to be MLB's blog lor. It's good for fans to interact w/ each other of course but maybe there r other places u can tok if it's not about MLB? No offense hor! Just my sincere comment.

& then since i m so long winded already let me yak a while longer. Sorry lah... but i have to let out my feelings towards sam. I din think much of MLB at first, but i was more & more impressed w/ MLB after each round until one day they sang guohuo (jeff chang was my fav singer in the past) i was so so impressed w/ sam's singing. Think it was the first time i heard sam's singing. Then damn it i failed to record buxiangzhangda as i was in china & sth went wrong w/ my timer, i missed the sat retelecast as well. sigh.... anyway next round was shenbian & i was so glad i caught it. I was once again so impressed w/ sam playing the guitar. I fell in love w/ sam from then on.

Yah. This is my grandma story. & I d/l this song into my hp for $2.90 i think? (but the quality damned bad) but still listening to it repeatedly in the bus. Gosh, I m already visualising MLB cutting your own album & i would grab it the moment it's out & listen to your songs day & nite, your very own songs. How sweet & nice. & we must make this happen!!!

sometimes, i feel that we s'poreans don't ask enough questions. we are so respectful or frightened of authority that we just accept whatever they say. look at american idol and how some of the contestants rebut the judges. i don't mean being rude, cocky or obnoxious but u can still ask questions, can't u? don't understand what the judges want sometimes when they keep insisting on patterns and differences. do u see groups like mayday or shin yue tuan coming up with patterns? yes they do sing slow song sometimes but their trademark style remains. i hate it whenever the judges criticise groups for lack of patterns. this is a singing talent show.lets learn fr the Israeli sch children, whose parents expect them to ask questions in sch everyday. ask the judges to be specific,ask them to elaborate. they are lao shi after all, right? ask and it shall be given, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto u. see if the judges themselves make sense. sometimes i can't help feeling that the show is all rigged. they probably have de superband group in mind (for marketability,compliance,obedience) our voting is just an emotional roller coaster ride and bringing in revenues. conspiracy theory? we shall see. ask questions, contestants.

i agree that somehow its rigged. Li yiwen mentioned in the interview (channel U website) amidst the outcry from public that calling votes seem unfair, they will MODIFY the competition so that the most popular YET talented group will emerge the winner...and at the moment they are targeting MLB to be the winner. They cannot cheat the votes, but...they will manipulate fans..which in turn, triggers phone calls. Very hard to explain (in case offend any party), takes someone with insight to see the picture...and some more weeks to come to confirm.

one more BIG GROUP will get knock out next week in QF10, cos they gonna make revivals very exciting...so trigger more phone calls...and $$$.

but then u can say its all my guess lah.. or simply bullshit.

modification is definitely the name of the game. just feel sorry for the fans who invest so much emotion and $$$, playing straight into their hands. i'm not so sure if mlb is de blue eye group but i agree that we need to study subsequent QFs before some 'patterns' emerge from the results. my dear nic, sam and weiqi, pardon this type of comments that r not the usual adoring ones but something so rational and matter of fact. see how u manage to attract a wide spectrum of fans. i ask that u remain true to ur music and aspirations and be yourself. there is no need to go with the flow. fame is so transient, u r already a star in our hearts. luv u all.

I wasnt a fan of MLB till they sang Tian Mi Mi. Till then, the song seemed flat and boring (no matter who sang it, and quite a few famous singers had/have sung it). Was curious, and anxious--why MLB wld want to sing TMM. Then came MLB's version. Wow! Luv the arrangement, creativity (guitar and flute) and the fusion. Nic rocked with his "raspy" rendition. No turning back--I got converted to a MLB fan!!! And at my age too! (At least there's Chiobu and Old Fan..he he he).

Then I recalled the brief impressions of MLB. What struck me was their sense of fun and ENJOYMENT. They are the SUNSHINE boys!

MLB, I miss that sense of enjoyment and sunshine you bring to the stage. On Monday that enjoyment, fun and sheer pleasure of singing was not there (as mentioned by other MLBies).

Go for a break, and have fun. Think abt yr mission statement (why u join Superband etc). Dont be pressurized by the competition. Bask in the sun and come back renewed! They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength ...
